Italian-style pizza starts with a fluffy pizza dough recipe, and of course, a homemade pizza sauce.

Most of the time, I make my pizza sauce without tomato paste, with canned crushed tomatoes. In the summer, however, I like to use fresh tomatoes to make my pizza sauce with cherry tomatoes, because they are so flavorful and abundant that time of year.
